------------------------------

I truly missed talking to you last night.
I called you at our prearranged time.
But, I could not get through to you.
I can only guess your daughter was online.

You just don't know how many times
I've started to call you, then and today.
Only to utter a soulful "ohhh,"
And Pull my trembling hand away.

I really don't know or understand
How I'm going to get through this.
Because, your precious laughter,
I really and truly do miss.

You just don't realize
How much I miss your sweet voice.
But I know I promised not to call.
So I guess I have no choice.

I just don't think I can do without,
Being able to say, "I love you."
And hear and sense your lovely smile,
When I hear you say, "I love you too."

But what saddens me the most, is that
No matter how much you, I miss,
I cannot go back on my word.
Because a promise is a promise.
