A tranquil white sea of it floats down from the heavens. Snowflakes that look like they are hovering and wafting on gentle breezes, as if they were bits of soft down dropping from the very wings of the angels. The night air is nearly still, it is so utterly peaceful and tranquil that there is no sound.

Nothing moves, it is as if time has come to a standstill. I walk out into the night with a soul as gentle as the snowflakes kissing us from above and we stand with arms wrapped around each other as we take in the peaceful solitude of the night. No sounds to caress your ears, no traffic or passers- by to invade the sanctity of this pristine moment, this God given gift that stills your soul.

Look through the trees, my love. Look through the light beyond and see how the snow mesmerizes your mind, how it dances upon gentle winds as if borne by angelic wings. Feel the coolness of the night, how it wraps us in it’s sacred embrace and how it envelopes us, body, mind and soul.

A gift, this night and even more so the cleansing snow that cascades so lightly around us, purifying us with it’s heaven-sent absolution. The wind is a soft whisper from heaven, quietly and solemnly assuring us that all is well, that we are safe and loved, that we are wrapped in the tender embrace of God.
