He'd spent a thousand days like this. Walking in the sun's warmth, feeling it invigorate him, then slowly tiring him out.
Lately it seemed more the later, but he knew he was old. He wasn't troubled by it like some people.
In fact he enjoyed his age. With it came memories, funny how thoughts of bygone hardships and troubles could rest alongside the happier times.
That was why he enjoyed his age, it stood for accomplishment.
Life can end but it can't be taken away.
But enough of that, he had work to do
And that's how they found him, lying in the yard, a peaceful look, stillness
and a soft image against the harsh earth
