a spell for kellys love

the true love of my life
has been gone too long

she was surgically removed
one entire act sliced away
from my very best play

had you only demanded my left arm
things might have been so much simpler

after all flesh for flesh and blood
seems a far more reasonable arangement
than torturing a wounded creature...

and you call yourself a woman of god.

so being desperate by now
i decided that it was time
to reach out to a higher source

i gathered up some magic sticks
of jasmine and sweet patchouli
a red pen a slip of pink paper
a knife a blood red apple and
a piece of precious red ribbon

and then i waited for a full moon...

did you happen to see her
she rose fully bloated
purring with spring cream
and right on schedule.

i sat beneath her and carved
two hearts from the apple
held them dripping above my head
and this is what i chanted

"cast a spell of real love magic
toss your net into the sea
substitute what once was tragic
and then real love returns to me"

then i wrote it all down
wrapped the note around
the two bleeding hearts
tied with sacrificial ribbon
and i buried the whole thing
deep beneath a willow tree...

now its just a matter of time.
