The taste of candy
Lingers sweetly in my mouth
Like thick liquid honey wrapping itself
Sensuously around my eager tongue.
Candy cherries
Perched proudly atop pale pink cupcakes
That I nibble until their sweet juices
Make red my lips.
Hard candy
That I draw into my mouth
And suck gently until my tongue
Feels the wetness of its own slick nectar.
Chewy candy
That I bite carefully and roll
On my tongue until the liquid center bursts,
And floods my mouth with a sweet explosion.
The taste of Candy
Lingers sweetly in my mouth.
