he holds my chin in his firm grasp
a tear escapes the corner of my right eye

betraying my fear
exposing my need

his eyes bore deep into me
searching

another tear breaks loose
slipping from the left

his eyes follow its track
slowly cutting down my cheek

his hands cup my face
tipping it to the side

he leans in
tongue gently touching my cheek

trailing up
tasting the tear

consuming my need
soothing my fear

a grateful tear released
another crack in the wall
