A True Friend

I greet you every morning
In the evening too
Are you only there
Because I look for you

Do you disappear
Or have a life of your own
Do you live as I
Or are you simply gone

Like sands through the glass
Life passes us by
Each day a new beginning
At night again we die

How many days have you seen
How many more are there to come
Will I suffer loss as before
Will you accomplish the task and be done

Our days are as lives
Meaningful, but short
How many more memories
Must we escort

Many lives are past
What does the future hold
Many more moments must pass
Before we are told

Must we keep coming back
Will the end ever come
How will we know when it’s the end
When will we be done

We’ll do this together
You and I
With me over here
And you on the other side

You are my only true happiness
Yet you’re my depression
I’ll greet you again
Good night, my reflection.

reflections

Two kindred spirits meant to be together ~ yet still apart.

~~

A friend you're stuck with

Whenever you look;

He always knows when you're looking too

For he seems to always stare at you.
