“Will that be cash or charge,” I asked the lady in the store.
She opened up her purse; she had her wallet there and more.
She had her TV set’s remote. It took up lots of space.
“How come you carry that?” I asked. “It seems like such a waste.”

“Today,” she said, “My hubby dear refused to come with me.
He said he hated shopping, said he’d rather watch TV.
And so I took his fav’rite toy, and not just on a whim.
I thought it was the meanest thing that I could do to him.
