A younger man, if dreams there be,
could sweep you off your feet. Gently
Will kiss your lips of silken flame
And love you more each day proclaim
Would that I could be that man
I was, you know, so long ago

Let dreams be mine and time be yours
Of lovers who have gone before
Wild roses blossom in bouquets
Grown to steal your heart away
I’d hold them with a lover’s touch
A gift for you, a vow so true

Just let it linger in your dreams
That golden possibility
Of bliss between what is and was
Of happy endings lost in love
Would you allow true love to fade
Sail this sea and dream with me

A beautiful, classical style poem. Good work.
