- The Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Bierce
A cold, raining day.
No hearth to keep the chill at bay.
A call, good news from the surgeon
And suddenly our chores were more urgent.
Room conversion, deep conversation
On the future; another to include,
No more solitude.
Above the rain, beyond the clouds,
The sun still shines.
Seven cycles missed, another
Pair to go.
Issues arise where we don't care to go.
On the road of life,
On a highway of asphalt
All our hopes, Fate's knife
Cut away.
A wail, a screech,
A rail hit, thrown down a street.
More than a chassis was halted
that day, the skies weeping.
That day, the Grim One reaping.
Above the rain, beyond the clouds,
The sun still shines.
Waking dead,
In a clinic bed.
The sterile walls and sterile wills
Penetrate the conscious mind and soul.
Life energy, so precious, has been sapped
away, all life and potential gone, untapped.
Name escapes the prison of my lips,
Hand covers mine.
I hear a voice, feel a tear
in the spirit - an angel ripped from
this earth by the frail, inadequate
shield of a mother's body.
Above the rain, beyond the clouds,
The sun cannot be seen.

Suffer the little children...one taken much too soon. Angels must adore her.
A tragic loss you never see coming
Especially when there's but 2 months to go...
your loss through your words written here today. But you still have each other and there will come a day when your arms will be filled with the miracle of life. Thank you for allowing Me to feel this sorrow with you.
