Burn me up baby; your kiss is like fire….

The words were softly unspoken;
Passion and promises entwined.
It was thought provoking,
But nevertheless withheld all the truth -
closest to the truth they've known.

That night kisses heat up like flames,
consuming them with lust.
Igniting their passion to the brink.
They both wanted it,
subconsciously they knew;
just a taste and they'd be lost.

But just as the passion hurled within a second,
smoldering their mind with the unknown truth--
Their rational minds caught up.

The logical thoughts came crashing in,
the blinding passion before…
gone…
departed.

The consuming flames,
blazing and scorching with heat…
slowly died down.

Those fervent promises made silently that night,
dissipated, faded just like the remnants of smoke of their extinguished fire….
