Absence Remains

byDawnJ©

I loved you, once,
with all of me...
every 'i' and 't',
dotted and crossed
by swelling love
for you.

Where is it now,
that love
that ate my soul,
that broke my heart?
It's gone,
like mist in sunshine.

I miss the love
I had for you.
It was my Muse,
my heart and soul.
Now — broken — only
absence remains.
