Click hereSpoke to the walls today, waited for an answer,
There was no reply.
Listened to the air conditioner hum, hoping to hear your voice,
There were no words.
Sat in my chair hoping you would call,
The phone did not ring.
Saw you in my mind, touched your awesome body,
My hands came away empty.
Daydreamed of your lips kissing mine,
It was still only a dream.
Walked through my day in a daze, wanting and needing you,
You were absent.
Hugged my pillow to my breast tonight, wishing you were holding me,
Could not feel your arms.
Cried out your name, hoping you would hear me call,
Your ears did not listen.
Sent my love out to you on the wind,
It came back on a sigh.
Spent the night in loneliness and grief,
Our love is gone, you are absent from my life.
Very well done;
your words and the rhythm, so hollow;
echoing the feelings inside, so empty;
loss resonates.
Good ideas in this poem, but don't be afraid to put yourself in your words by using the word "I" instead of avoiding it.
