Nothing deflates like laughter. Nothing may
outdo intentions like a mocking smile,
inverted echo of our feelings, glad

desire’s denial. On the copper plate
time’s progress etches each new biting line
across the happy image first designed

when moods were not yet outlined and when both
our hearts seemed open - ere I understood
how cold contempt makes fools feel fools for good.

FOOLS AND THEIR GELD"

are etched in copper, used once and destroyed for posterity, TK U MLJ LV NV

A good flow again

but this bit is a mouthful, with no punctuation:

On the copper plate

time’s progress etches each new biting line

across the happy image first designed

when moods were not yet outlined and when both

our hearts seemed open

And not sure about the 'ere'
