Away for so long
I always forget how you well you fit
I'm always reminded in one quick second
That I'm an addict getting her fix
One hit short of crying
And just when I think I've settled in
You always step in
At just the right time,
Gripping my conscious and watching
As my skin drips into puddles.
My brain swims, drowning in my passion,
Pulling the plug on all troubles.
Even when it's over
It's not much over...
You linger in every breath I take
And escape in soft sighs as I drift off to sleep.
