take a sip of precious wine
have a dip into her skin
despite all your best efforts
a sickness grows within

my face is changing
perceptions waning
what little i once knew
removed from being true

i have but one affliction
a penchant for addiction
give me something to fill this time
make it anything, but being mine

sip another kiss
from a vessel of destruction
slap another hit
into this veinal combustion

forget your promises
ignore your fears
whatever you wish to be
is gone but near

for there is no striving
no pressure to perform
if only we could stay here
forever empty

forlorn

A very interesting ...

poem. Addiction of booze or drugs is just a vicious circle of events and sometimes like a roundabout, you just don't know when or how to get off.

Never quite reaching that magical moment ~ yet it hovers always near.
