beautiful

the way she sits
across from me
with her head down

pen in hand
lost in thought
and eating little
puff pastries

every few minutes
she sips her coffee
then scribbles something
on the pad in front
of her

then she winks
and smiles at me
through the part
in her hair

beautiful

her hair is midnight
her skin is milk
poured into a
deep blue silk robe

her make-up
non-existent
except for a trace
of her lipstick
that still marks
my thighs

her whispers create
sonic booms that shake me
to my core

after all these years
nothing has changed

she is still beautiful

and she still makes me shiver
