After the fight

The master bedroom door slammed shut!
Then she heard the hard click of the lock.

Standing at the linen closet,
tears rolled down her cheeks
as she grabbed what she needed
to use the guest bedroom.

Their fight had almost turned violent.
First time in twenty five years that
they didn't settle before going to bed, together.
Then again, what was there to settle?

He had caught them at the party going
as far as a man and woman could go.
Certainly not where a married woman should be
with a man not her husband.

She tried to tell him that it was only
the one time.
That she had to much to drink.
That she was so very sorry.
That she love only him.

He wouldn't listen.
Used words like cuckold, betrayal,
disrespect, divorce.
