She lays there sleeping, now,
skin yet flushed and moist
her lips, a secret smile
from dreams she holds within
her soul.

I watch her breathe, her
breasts rise and fall as
ocean waves on tropic shores
so far away, yet closer by
her warmth.

I see her stir and shake
within the night, and
touch her lightly, that
inside her soul she knows
I watch.

Let nought disturb my one
who slumbers dark and deep,
I will stand guard o'er her rest
and with my very presence keep
her safe.
