Crescent City
After Katrina
You and I adrift like lost souls in the aftermath.
A single glance, a touch and a caress.
Our bodies know the rest.
Here and now amidst the chaos.
Do two lovers entangled as one.
Dirt and grime pushed aside by lust and heat.
Hands and mouths aching and exploring.
In an isolated courtyard in the Quarter.
We stayed and watched as the storm blew overhead.
Neighbors but then afterwards much more.
Feeling like Adam and Eve no other souls around.
Jazz tunes drifting from the other room we feel we're being watched.
A lone musician serenades our lovemaking, our bodies wet and taut.
Feeling like a nymph and satyr in a magic fairy tale.
Our bodies drip and the scent of musk tell tale evidence of our tryst.
Then we once again ascend the steps and crawl back into our lair.
A new love found, a relationship begun.
New wonders and adventures to explore.
