it begins
a mere shadow of a memory
silently weaving
through thick conscious thoughts
warming and heating until finally melting
the hardness of them
until they slink away
replacing sun bright reality
with last nights crumpled sheet images
bordered by kama sutra scents
which lift, sending raspy urgent pleas
escalating toward hard snow capped mountain peaks
until they too slip and slide into quiet
and all that I'm left
is the soft remembrance
of a distant candle
dripping
hot wax tears.
