a sad café
with just desserts
Rememberas
if you please
Ever to taste
Bitter differences
Sweet similarities
Ceiling fans
blow away
Corner table smiles
sweet sweet teas
buried hidden truths
lies under
crisp thin glazes
brittle crusts
So beautiful to see
Butter thick secrets
runcible confessions
break the shell
tempted to taste
an acid reflux reaction
Perhaps perhaps perhaps
A lemon bar
With it’s bitter sweetness
Maybe the only honest pastry
Shelved away
Deferenced for
Dark opaque
Rich heavy chocolate

The tempting morsel beckons
Only Too late
the mind knows
It has tasted too much.

exquisite

A beautiful metaphorical rendering. Rich imagery.

~~

The tempting dulls the senses to all but the most exquisite tastes;

Devouring all in sight, until it is too late {but it did taste soooo good}.
