Of Christians the churches are many,
Not all teachings are the same,
They hold to a fragile truce,
Agreeing to disagree.

The place called Purgatory,
To be cleansed of sins,
Before entering heaven,
We agree to disagree.

A time called the Rapture,
When the righteous are called,
And lifted up to heaven,
We agree to disagree.

Mary, conceived without sin,
Born pure to give birth to Jesus,
Bourne directly to heaven having never sinned,
We agree to disagree.

The King James Bible,
The only true translation,
God’s instructions to His people,
We agree to disagree.

Over 300 Christian sects,
But all believe in Jesus.

Very interesting

I really like this poem. I think it's very intersting to sit down and really think about the words here. They hold true on so many levels. I don't know about other religions, but the Christians it would seem do have a right/wrong way sometimes. The only real way to unite is to simply follow the teachings of Christ. I feel if that is done, then we are doing the right thing. The subtle symantics of religion can often lead to confusion, but agreeing to disagree does seem to be the most reasonable approach, remembering of course that Christ is lord. Well done my friend and very thought provoking.

Are you familiar at all with the Gnostic Gospels?

The fractured nature of the Christian Religion is an interesting and exciting topic. I have been unable to listen to your poem (my comp is suffering from damaged system files, so I get no audio or DirectX), but from reading it, I am engaged.

Although it lacks flow and a comfortable structure, it makes up for these defects in word choice, observations and clear concise stanzas. The repeated refrain of 'We agree to disagree' both unites the poem, ending each stanza definitely, and adds towards the somewhat prophetic nature of the poem.

Unfortunately, I feel the uneven line lengths, and lack of overall consistency in the stanzas throw the metre and the voice of the poem off, making it slightly awkward to read. This is, of course, only my opinion, and no doubt some will disagree.
