Click hereThe lack of you beside me
Is as crisp and chill
As the cold moon’s light
Glancing off the everlasting snows
In the land of my birth
I know that dawn will come
To melt this icy heart
But until your promised return
I find it most appropriate
To be under the long nights moon.
Similies piled atop metaphors ~
How can you not sense the feelings of loneliness here?
Anyone who has experienced such a night with a full moon lighting a winter landscape would appreciate this poem. Thank you for the chance to reminisce.
indeed! I am a diurnal person but I still love the long winter nights of the north even if I don't live quite so far up there that my daylight disappears, although some days in December it seems that the sun never pierces through the clouds...
Then, it's night again,
and the moon succeeds
where the sun couldn't shine.
brrrr if you wanted to make us cold, you succeeded! nice
thanks for playing
the first line made me feel a little jumbled, did you intend this I wonder.
