Alejo fell asleep
to this

I dare not move
when too deep
breaths rumble
blinking lids
claps like thunder

might burst
the bubble

for he
only
he deserves

to rest
through my insomnia
insatiable
in peace

Alejo fell to this
and will ascend
to this
again

i pray
for patience
peace

to let the loudest
thoughts sink deep
to not disturb
disrupt his ease

cradle that weary head
slumbered scarred
upon my breath held
careful bosom bed

so that later
come tomorrow
daylight dawn

he'll carry me

Alejo
mi amore
sleep

Beautiful

Your word choices were exquisite. Such stark and clear images. Lovely rendering.

real;ly nice work

Randi, I enjoy your spacing and your word choices. Your poetry is rather new to me so I will be watching out for you ;)

this is my favorite part-

cradle that weary head

slumbered scarred

upon my breath held

careful bosom bed

This was

so beautiful..

If they ever fix the edit feature i would add this as a favorite.

Such a contrast between the minimal words and the incredible feelings they stir.

Really a masterpiece

Thank you
