all I ever wanted
(     to surrender to you at last,
to show you all my passion,
to speak the truth without fear,
to be exposed, vulnerable, yet safe  )

all I ever dreamed of
(     being simply a woman and a man,
building memories to keep always,
letting my heart show without filter,
knowing I’ve said everything, once you go  )

all I ever realized
(     I haven’t done everything I wanted to;
too late, and my heart is aching knowing this,
your arms were my safest place and I will miss that,
there were layers of you, and layers of me, left to reveal  )

all I ever wasn’t.
