Consider all the yesterdays
folded one upon the other
until they touch those
moments kept secret
even from yourself

chance meetings in bars
smoky with blind indulgence
blame the sixties
and your liberal arts
education

love came curled up
in crocheted innocence
love assumed and temporal
blame repression
and freedom fresh born

Consider all the tomorrows
placed carefully side by side
arranged in bundles
tidy
movable

Yesterday and yesterday
crushed and blended
an homogenized blend
of day old milk
coating your tongue

Far away.

After a time ~ memories run together ~ mesh - become golden.
