two planes
stretched flat and broad
wavering
shimmering alive in breath

the ground
scarred by the
barefooted marks
of playing children
five perfect toes splayed
in a sandy sculpture
sandstones
rearing their faceted heads
peer from earthy graves
just to feel
the caress of fresh air

the horizon
that thick stripe
of bold black marker
tearing perception in two
a clear line
between
right
and
wrong
refreshing from
the infamous blurry gray
of indecision

the sky
a vast expanse of
nothingness
ruby flecked at dusk
exorbitant shades
of shredded blues
showing that milky
background
of scattered clouds
two perfect globes
suspended above
like disco balls
one a fiery orb
the other a hint
of lunar beauty
turning
nothingness
into
somethingness

two planes
stretched flat and broad
sulking
an allusion to sunsets
