Standing up atop a hill.
Hear the low rhythmic tone.
And listen to the screams
As you slowly realize that you are alone.

Standing in the middle of a fight
Trying to turn, trying to run
Trying to bury yourself in all the fun
Standing before the "white light".

Listen to the silent hush of the hollows
Turn the pages, turn the books
Turn away from the hateful looks.
Turn away till no one follows.

No more fussing, no more fights.
No more turnig out the lights.
Block out the yelling and hateful tones.
'Cause all I do is standalone.

Shut the doors that cause the fights.
Engulf yourself in the silent nights.
The stars may shimmer, the stars may shine
But nothing slows down the hands of time.

Open your heart, open your soul
Close your eyes to the things that seem droll.
Open your heart, open your arms
Close your mind to the thought that harms.

If the world can not find its loving peace
If fighting is their golden fleece
I'd rather run, I'd rather hide
Writing's the salvation that I find.

If you'd rather take that tone
I'd rather stay and be
ALONE!!
