Alone

I lie here in our bed alone again
praying for daylight to come
wishing away time
demons haunt my rest
without you near
holding me
aiding me to stave off the fear
the rain falls outside
and a cold wind blows through my heart
where are you this night when I need you the most?

I lie here awake again
listening to the quiet city streets
the world passing by
young lovers embracing above
lightening fills the sky
tears glitter in my eyes
like shimmering diamonds they fall
onto this lonely bed
I scream out inside
it is you that I call

Loneliness fills me
pain and torment gives way to the light
another day without you
again into the darkest of nights
my blood runs like fire through my veins
as I remember your embrace
like dieing embers of passion that burn inside

The onxy sky fills with twinkling stars
The moon as red as blood
my heart is breaking
I reach for you
but I am alone
