I am a ghost.
Finding, that with out you to touch me,
There is nothing to touch.
I am insubstantial.
Devoid of you, I am naught.
Sure, I walk, I talk,
I “live” my life.
But it’s gauzy with a dream-like quality
Drowsily, an indistinct reverie
I am the voice of shadows.
I cry, but there are no tears
For, where are you?
To brush them away?
With a gentle fingertip?
Without you, I am only an illusion.
Content with illusionary happiness.
I don’t die when you leave me,
But I forget that I’m alive.
I become a faint transparency.
And I miss you.
Because you give a heart a home.
And breathe reality into a chimera.
