American Military

Military men and women are people like you,
Serving God and country, the red, white, and blue,
Some were drafted and others volunteered,
American military is revered and feared.
Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or Marine,
On every continent our presence is seen,
Protecting freedom, preserving the American dream,
We are the best fighting machine, the A-team.

We beat Kaiser Wilhem in the 1st World War,
Hitler and Hirohito lost the 2nd World War,
We beat Kim II Sung in Korea’s War,
Castro and Khrushchev, Cuban missiles won’t soar,
Vietnam, Grenada, Persian Gulf wars no more,
Saddam Hussein, Col. Khadafi, and the Ayatollah,
Terrorists attacks. We paid Iran and Iraq back;
Aircraft carriers with stealth bombers sneak attack.

We beat them all; they deserved to fall.
Flee or fight, they can’t match American might.
We paid with blood and earned the right,
Of freedom and to sleep peacefully at night,
We salute Uncle Sam; he’s our man.
I pledge allegiance to the flag and brag,
Thanks to the American Military,
I’m safe to raise my family.

A little patriotic fervor's not always bad, despite the harsh and gritty reality for those boots on the ground.

Alright

I don't DO poetry, but this expresses some pretty good ideals. I think you took a little too much artistic license when you remarked about stealth bombers operating off Navy aircraft carriers though. Sorry, dude. The U.S. Navy doesn’t have any stealth bombers…and USAF stealth aircraft can’t land on carriers…but okay, I’ll cut you some slack. :)

Some serious disconnect

I have read your "daily news" first. that's where I learned how you feel about real life. What about the real life of those to whom you pledge and salute etc? The poem itself sounded like a shopping list of wars. I did not hear true words about our life with war now. On what planet do you live man?
