Sitting here in disbelief, Is it true what they said
How can it be, My chest so tight, I can't breathe
Tears fill my eyes so that I can't see
Where is my family, is everyone fine,
I just want to go home and be with mine
Listening to the horror on the radio while working
We sit so safe and secure in our homes
Thinking that nothing can happen
Our country's too strong
No one will mess with us
We'll wipe them out
How can someone hate us for no reason at all
We ask ourselves as the Trade Centers fall
Four birds in the air traveling blind
With terrorists in control with one thing in mind
One hits New Yorkers way deep in their hearts
and another that tears Manhattan apart.
Since this is America and we believe in free speech
I will tell all you idiots who will anti war preach
If we continue to go through life with our heads in the air
The next time they hit maybe you’ll be there!
