For seven days, my wife and I were visiting our son.
He has a year old daughter there who's charming ev'ryone.
She's starting now to stand up and she's learning how to walk
And pretty soon her baby noise will graduate to talk.

Her chubby cheeks and button eyes are cute as they can be.
We love to hear her giggle as she waves her arms with glee.
Though only just a little girl, she knows she can beguile
Her parents and the folks around with nothing but a smile.

She laughs aloud as to the floor, she throws her Sippy cup,
And laughs again when someone quickly comes to pick it up.
And when she wants a hug, she reaches out her chubby arms,
For anyone who sees her is so taken by her charms.

Grandchildren are the nicest things that I have ever known;
They make me sad I wasted all the years I was alone.
So now I spend my time with them, as much as I can spare,
Instead of getting grouchy sitting in my easy chair.

I hope you enjoyed this poem about my adorable little granddaughter. It was fun to write, because I was thinking of her as I wrote it. Whatever your opinion, I appreciate it if you let me know by voting and leaving a public comment.
