my life did not pass reeling before my eyes

but it should have - one more confusing event.

you weren't there first in my assaulted mind,

still you soon appeared amidst gratitude and awe.

vitality refused this violent cue to die.

as love for son, daughter, windy mountain vistas

and women who have shared; willing and kind,

in my thoughts shown past visored view clouds.

music you have played became the soundtrack

of consciousness stream that flowed past.

an odd yet divine scrim became backdrop

to drama and mirth playing in thought.

there your beauty, courage, a particular knack

for caring about health and purpose with joy

all fostered my love and admiration nonstop

for you, the body and soul of my hearts desire.

so there on the pavement for minutes and more

gave time and place to consider what matters.

the caring, sharing of one with another -

life with adventure, seeking meaningful purpose.

will i settle for the expected sans uproar?

you invite ecstatic connection and cheer

that soars beyond the patterns that smother

the life force within me, you, within us all.

should i limp from this epiphany unbidden

it may be well worth the renewal of soul.

for each challenge does offer to temper

our living to shine bright as sharp steel.

as you, gracious lover, take what is hidden

and help find the deeper truths that are there.

in naked communion, this uncertain caper

urges us act in the film of brave lives.

What

the hell is a caring cad? This reads like NLP psychobabble. i.e well it could be this, or it could be that, but yes it is.

And to be honest it does have some cliches. I did not vote.
