with an onrushing of darkness,
the sky explodes into a vibrant cacophony.
any mere cloud that dare roll over the view is draped in gold and silver,
beds for angelic choirs, while their god paints the eye.

and then…

yellow is orange, orange is red as the orb slips below.
rainbow colours bleed into rainbow skies
red, orange, yellow now yellow, orange and red,
Then purple, then indigo

and then…

with a sigh the earth turns on,
Light becomes dark, colour becomes no colour.
the angels all go home
and their god turns on the night.
