silver beads
taughtly strung
whisper
against tender skin
solid and heavy on my neck
matching the weight
in my heart
clutching
cool, smooth, round
distorting images
reflecting
the anguish in my eyes;
grasping
my hand claws
angry
snapping
rid me of this burden
their whispered bounce
muffled
alongside my cries
in the pillow
cascading
and then...
gone
