Night is black
Black is warm
Stars shine bright
Moon a mystery

Wind blows cold
Wind weaves a song
Trees play on
Grass dances solemnly

Earth is patient
Nature’s great blanket
Covers but never smothers

Wail of lost souls
Beating of broken hearts
Fire burns on

Nameless face cackles
Old man grimaces
What is lost

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
And they laugh

dying

Death where is thy sting...dust to dust.

~~

A celebratory funeral, perhaps?
