Anna
I watched you hug your knee
Against your chest and paint your toenails
Scarlet Siren.
I watched the bumps of your spine strain
and your brow crease with concentration.
I watched you stroke the brush along the nail
Artist at work, until the final flourish.
Then,
The tantalising wait before I could
Unfurl you, spread you open, wide open
And fuck you - no poetic preamble.
Just really, really fuck you.

BANG!

I love the way this unrolls into an honest declaration.
