Anopheles Quadrimaculatus

Just as twilight shadows start to shade and dim
From hidden marshy bowers upon the Summer's breeze
A faint humming in your ear makes you twitch and duck.
You would never think to cower behind him:
He offers no protection from my hunger's pleas
And knows not that tonight you are a sitting duck.

Forgotten for a moment danger dives down low
To settle lightly behind your dainty crossed knees
Poised for the strike, your harvest soon to pluck.
Piercing proboscus so tender, sharp - you never know
I suck!
