She stopped for a visit
On cold starry night
A slip of a moon
The sky clear and bright
She wanted to see
If the old foolish man
Would jump into the pool
He said watch me, ma'am:
He wrapped up in his wrap
And they walked down to the pool
A towel on his shoulder
And he gave her a wink
that made her suspicious
and indeed he was thinking
devising a plot, a devious plan
but for fun, not malicious
On the edge of the pool
He said look away
And pulled off his wrap
And he turned around
'Cause he knew she would peek
and scooped her right up
Then jumped into the pool
She let out such a shriek
Under the water
He almost felt her mad glare
When up the ladder they climbed
As he put his towel around her
He said see? You survived.
And she removed her wet clothes
Her look became thoughtful
She said I feel so cold but so alive
He diverted his eyes
(at least some of the time)
As she dried herself quickly
And with his wrap he dried off her hair
Happy she didn't storm
As she smiled up at the stars
He said come up the house
I'll show you how to get warm
With my humble apologies to the lady that put this foolishness in my head.
