J ewel of body (ornament of soul)
O rbited ev'r by dreams' half-shaped delights,
L ies she still-sown, like seed the desert stole
I nto parched earth to hide from noons and nights?
N o, wait! It rains! The humid wash of kisses
A ttempts her love, and wakes her needs and blisses!

A nd upward: up with love's first eager bloom,
N ot shown to bitter night nor raging day,
D irect those swelling lips to yield him room.
R ound her awakening joys he tempts his way,
E ver to conquer and be conquered more--
A doring her, and bidding her adore!
