There was a time where I would pray
That my last breath would be today
Choked with sobs, resigned to fate
I stumbled into my soul mate
At first I thought it could not last
To keep my love, but weeks passed
Soon I knew my path was laid
To make this woman happy made
A debt to her for life renewed
No price too high, she'll have her due
There's nigh a breath that I could take
Which for her I shan't forsake
For what need do I have for air
If her love is no longer there
But while her love unto me lain
My body soul and mind remain
No air sustains me more with life
Than kind words of my future wife
My next breath I do take for thee
My one sweet and caring Lady
