The joy of love
is dandy and swell
celebrating Valentine's Day
you can all die
and go to hell

commercializing a
human emotion
is the lowest of the low
one day shouldn't
confine our feelings
for us
to show

It should be
year around
all the time
but on this day
are innocents
conned
into spending extra
dime

flowers
candy
balloons
and pink-ish red cards
all with Cupid
on them
chocolate shaped like hearts

lonely people
have the most
to hate about
this day
I'm sleeping in
people join me
and let's skip the day

It's not because I have
no love
in my heart
It's complicated
why
begin at the start

Not a single
card in my box
as i send
millions out
hence why
I tale
the
anti-valentine's
route

sending flowers
to a girl i like
then watch them
being thrown
into the trash
all the stryfe

few and far
between friends
send cards
to cheer me up
dwendled
and stopped
so enough

Charlie Brown
gets more than me
enough to make him smile
but what about the
dumped
broken hearted
and lonely?
forget them?
how vile!

loving and caring
looks in everyone's eyes
love seems so wonderful
today
but the shit is full of lies

broken hearts
and minds
scores sent to shrinks
I don't know who said it first
but it's true
love stinks

" love is neat
love is swell
love is absolutely..."
horrible
leave it alone
and oh well

it's you
i don't know
what to do
i thought you
were gone for good
too late for that
when you stomped
my heart flat

and on all days
why now
do i bump into you?

darnest thing.

An old Valentine ~ he would have preferred not to meet.

Another witty rant against that love day.
