i saw them wrap you up
and i saw myself where you are now
only five years younger
taking notes
on your fragile state
sighing again
and taking your hand telling you
one more soothing word
before i slip into my own.
the colors change
like when you age
the skin pales
the eyes wander
and fingertips are left to believe
that past the thin flesh
lie the answers to everything.
i'm watching myself
watching you
like a movie
something old and dark
makes me shake my head
and wonder
is this where it all goes?
i've got to shake you
make you see that
this is not where it all
ends up
one more time can't hurt
before i get mine.

Sadness

This poem has an undertone of sadness, the imagery here is lovely.

There's nothing like a personal love poem posted for all to read, to get everyone's attention.

beautifully worded...

this is a very loving poem, SIMA...well-constructed, and very evocative. arienette should be very proud, to elicit a work like this from you. Keep it up!

That was just beautiful

And Arienette, I'd be forever grateful too.
