We arrive at the top of the world,
At the very end of time, at last,
We see a momentous event take shape.
At the end of things, we bear witness
That the end of things is also
The beginning of a whole new start
What must end, will end,
But every ending leads to a new beginning
For time is eternity, beyond man’s comprehension.
We seek answers to questions and queries
That we have no right in knowing or
The semblance of that knowledge shall allude us.
We arrive to see with our own eyes,
The end of this order of things.
Together as one, we will live our last moments,
Near the rooftop of the world,
On the edge of eternity.
As I hold you in my arms,
And you cling to me, we are together,
We first hear the sound of the wave approach us
And then see the radiant wave sweep across the sky
Enveloping everything and behind it there is brilliance.
You whisper how much you love me,
And hold me tighter and in that very moment,
Just before our final breaths,
I turn your head and I show my love,
The only and best way I know,
We arrive to the very moment that the Earth farewells us;
“Sweet children of mine, it is time to say goodbye”
In that second that the wave envelopes us,
On that rooftop of the world, that leads to eternity,
We are together, as we pass from a tearful Earth.
We arrive in one moment, and the next we are no-more.
And the Earth continues to spin,
Eons pass and the Earth bears new life, new possibilities
Yet on the surface of Earth, the new life-forms,
Bear testament to the first intelligence on Earth,
And humanity could never be forgotten,
For Earth bore her children and they left reminders
Like echoes in the currents of time.
