She is the mountain maple in the fall
Golden, resplendent, sturdy and tall

Warmth personified. Limbs spread wide,
ready to wrap and fold me inside

her tight embrace. Oh! And the taste,
syrupy sweet sap lays me to waste

For hours I lie peacefully in her boughs
my mind contemplating exactly how,

as I wandered aimless so alone
I recognized her as my home

clever

A lovely comparison ~ trees are beautiful in their own right ~ the affection comes through.

A nice sweet romantic piece, even if you are comparing her to a tree.
