Newly-felled woodland
a tangle of brambles
foxgloves
mountain-ash shoots
cut into halves by
a yellowish path and
the sudden smell
of stinkhorns
from the wood beyond:
a memory that hurts
just above the eyes.

A pretty piece!

Small pictures, vividly described nonetheless! I'm puzzled by the last two lines...the memory causes a headache? Perhaps something in the mind? Regardless, I like the effect of the poem.

Nicely expressed as ever

and to the point: I liked this - very much indeed. M
