I suffer all the pangs of love,
having felt

- your sharp strength
bearing against me

(wind against stone,
wave against rock
an avalanche
upon a mountain's breast)

having received

- the lava eruption of your coming
the old cement cracking and the hidden vent
blowing its head of love, rampant,
fruitfully, outward to the skies

and dreaming

of you ever naked in my arms, turning
and turning again to pleasures
ever fresh,
ever new.
