So many words, so much left unsaid back then
If we had spoken I wouldn’t have fled back then

The pain was great, shrouded, hidden in shame
The unknowing was growing my dread back then

I wanted the past and things as they were
You were moving, I sat here and bled back then

You were my colour, light, shade and the dark
Surely the butter that went on my bread back then

There are flowers and corpses here now where I sit
I picture so fitting as it was me I mislead back then

I made mistakes but for that am now strong
I know it was you I should have wed back then
